The National Weather Service is confirming that a tornado touched down in Livingston County early Monday morning, starting in the Town of Conesus and ending in the Town of Springwater. It was an EF-1 tornado, with an estimated peak wind of 110 mph.
The tornado in Livingston County hit at about 1:00 a.m. on Monday. The Weather Service says it had a path that ran about .8 miles long and it was about 75 yards wide.
Meteorologists say that the tornado, which began just west of Route 15, uprooted trees, crushed an outdoor shed and an above ground swimming pool.
The tornado continued east of Route 15, uprooting more trees along Main St., before doing some minor damage to a mobile home, and again, uprooting or shearing off dozens of trees.
There were no reports of any injuries. The Weather Service says the event lasted about 3-minutes.
The National Weather Service made the tornado determination after a survey of the area and talking with local emergency officials and area residents.
There were a number of storms late Sunday night into early Monday morning, mainly south of Rochester.
